It seems like Moody's dustbin incident is probably when Crouch Jr got to Moody, but he made such a great DADA teaher I'm not sure. If it really was Crouch Jr thru the entire school year, why would he have been teaching the students about the unforgivable curses? How it feels to be under the imperious curse and how to fight it off is something they should know when Voldie came back into power.

Barty Crouch Jr definitely turned into Moody after the dustbin incident, he said that under the influence of Veritaserum so be sure that he was telling the truth. wink.gif

Well, Crouch had to act as Moody-ish as possible. Since Moody despises the Dark Arts, it was rather prude of Crouch to teach the class how to fight really powerful dark magic. If he would have lectured them about boring, more or less harmless creatures someone would have definitely become suspicious.

Of course it wasn't an all too good decision to teach them how to fight off the Imperius Curse but nobody apart from Harry was able to so Crouch actually had nothing to fear. He probably already thought that there was no chance they were going to be able to do anything about the curse.

Unfortunately Harry was but then, Crouch thought Voldemort would murder him in the graveyard so again he had nothing to fear at that moment.
