A/N:: I shall try to have all of this done by the end of summer. All my chapters have been planned out and I live at my computer so yes.
DISCLAIMER:: Characters, settings (most except for one room mentioned) all belong to JKR! The plot - everything that happens in this story including: past (after Book 5) present and future mentioned - belong to ME. ^__^ Enjoy. Summary :: It's the aftermath of the battle with Voldemort and many have died, while many lay in St. Mungo's recovering, while others have made permanent residents there. One of those recovering is the blinded Ginevra Weasley, commonly known as Ginny. Everyday a man visits her. They talk and before she knows it, she's fallen in love. However, he never leaves his name or tells her more than he thinks she should know. He's careful not to hint his true identity. Through it all, Ginny loves him - although blinded physically and never being able to see him. He, on the other hand, is blinded with guilt and never being able to see that he should trust her. Blinded by Love by Angel M.C. Chapter One | Victims of a War that Was A time came for the Magical world where those witches and wizards of pure hearts had to stand against those with the tainted and stoned hearts. Those who fought for freedom, life, love and the light were lead by Albus Dumbledore while those who fought for evil, control, power and darkness were lead by Tom Marvolo Riddle although now he was better known as the Dark Lord, Voldemort. All knew that the downfall of the Dark Lord could only be brought on by the Boy Who Lived. A seventeen year old boy, not even finished his education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A boy who first came fresh from the muggle world, a dysfunctional family and no knowledge of the world where he belonged just seven years ago. He was marked by the Dark Lord as an equal with a lightning bolt scar that resided on his forehead after surviving the Killing Curse. Not wanting to have his parents' deadly sacrifice for him go in vain, he fought against the Dark Lord every year of his schooling in Hogwarts. He fought against the Dark Lord in the final battle as well. His name was Harry Potter. It was hard to say who would win. Both sides had tremendous support of witches and wizards. In the end, it was the Light that had won- --- A tall boy with fiery red hair and freckles on his face struggled to push his upper body from the ground. This was Ron Weasley. Weakly, he looked around for signs of his two other best friends. He saw the terrible fight – no – War before him. Wizard on wizard, witch on witch. It was a horrific scene, yet he could not pull away from it. Trying again to stand up, it was no use. He felt his left arm sting with pain. Looking down he noticed the sleeve of his robe was no longer there and could see the flesh of his arm. Cuts ran along his arm and blood dripped like tiny rivers down his arm. He felt numbness in that arm and tried using his right arm to push him up. Slowly, he managed to get on his knees, but not before he felt a pain in his right knee. Shifting his weight onto his left knee, he saw the skin of his knee, practically scraped off. Pushing off his right foot, he stood up and took seconds to regain his balance. It wasn't long until he let out a gasp. He realized now he was lying in a court of dead bodies. Students, death eaters. Swallowing the lump in his throat, he spotted his wand and carefully bent down to snatch it. "Ron-" a hoarse voice trailed. Quickly, Ron darted his eyes everywhere, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, his gaze rested upon Hermione Granger just meters away. She was struggling to lift her body from the bloodied ground. Her right hand clasped around her wand, face covered in cuts, bruises, blood, dirt and sweat. He limped his way over, finding his knee wasn't hurting as long as he didn't hit it. Pocketing his wand, Ron reached down to help Hermione up. Joining hands, he tried to pull her up, but it was no use. "Ron- I'm sorry, I can't- move my knees," she muttered. He knelt down in front of her on his left knee and draped her right arm around his neck. Wrapping his right arm behind her, he struggled to heave both of them to their feet. He managed as she clung to his neck for dear life. "What happened to you?" Ron asked. He had been too preoccupied with his own battle to concentrate on what was happening elsewhere. "Bellatrix-" Hermione replied weakly, "Hexed me- Neville killed her before she killed- me." She weakly pointed over to her left (his right). Ron followed where she was pointing and saw Neville dueling with another Death Eater. Just a few feet from him lay a motionless Bellatrix Black LeStrange. "Have you seen-" she paused to gain a little more strength, "Harry?" "Not since him and Dumbledore went after Voldemort," Ron explained, not even flinching at the Dark Lord's name. As if answering Hermione's questions further, a streak of green light pierced through the evening sky. The green light rippled through the battle field and disappeared. All those present looked towards the source of the green light. The Dark Mark rose into the red sky and was sliced in half with a streak of white light. The white light the rippled out through the battle field as a scream pierced the ears of those fighting and with the white light, the scream too disappeared. All eyes still towards the sources of light, which were located at the ruins of what was once called the Great Hall. Smoke began to clear and a large shadowy figure appeared. Delight could be heard from all the Death Eaters. However, that ended when the smoke cleared and the figure stepped onto the grass tainted with blood. A boy with messy jet-black hair struggled to walk as he carried the torso of an old man with long silver hair and a crooked nose. As the remaining Death Eaters tried to escape after realizing their master was no more, Aurors surrounded them immediately, stunning, hexing and jinxing them all into a pile. Ron slowly dragged himself and Hermione over to Harry- Hermione hanging onto him on the left side. Harry was struggling towards them. Harry carefully placed Albus Dumbledore's body onto the ground as he continued walking to his two best friends. Finally they met each other. Both Ron and Hermione gasped at the sight of Harry. The left side of his face was burned, along with the upper left side of his body. Tears were streaming down Harry's face as he looked at them both in the eye. "It's all over-" Harry's voice caught in his throat. He closed his eyes and without warning, gracefully tipped towards Ron. Stumbling forward, Ron reached out to Harry with his right arm as Hermione did the same but with her left arm. As best he could, Ron brought the three of them to the ground. He laid Harry on the grass as he knelt beside him, Hermione clutching onto his neck for support. Hermione let herself fall to the ground and pulled her body to the other side of Harry and checked the pulse by his neck. "He's still -alive," Hermione answered the question on both her and Ron's minds. "It's over Ron- finally, it's over." --- The price of the war was unmatchable. Although it brought upon the downfall of the Dark Lord, many lives were sacrificed and even more were changed forever- A number of teachers of Hogwarts were effected drastically from the battle. Including: Headmaster, Professor Albus Dumbledore died before Harry was able to defeat Voldemort. Vice- Headmistress, Educator of Transfiguration, Professor Minerva McGonagall had her left arm severed by a Death Eater moments before she killed him. Keeper of Keys, Groundskeeper, Educator of Care of Magical Creatures, Professor Rubeus Hagrid died after being attacked by three Death Eaters. All three Death Eaters are suffering critical injuries due to the fact Hagrid fell on them after dying. Educator of Flying Lessons, Quidditch Referee, Madame Avari Hooch was made paralyzed from the waist down after being attacked with several jinxes to the lower part of her body. Educator of Divination, Professor Sybil Trelawney was sent for treatment in St. Mungo's for mental illness after a near-death experience during the battle. Results still confirm no progress. Other witches and wizards died affecting the lives of Hogwarts Students. Including: Arthur and Molly Weasley - parents of seven children who have all attended or are attending Hogwarts School – died in battle against the Death Eaters. Frank and Alice Longbottom - parents of Neville Longbottom - died in battle against the Death Eaters. Megan Finnigan – mother of Seamus Finnigan – died in battle against Thomas Nott, father of Theodore Nott. Rose and Azure Brown – parents of Lavender Brown – died in battle against the Death Eaters. Elda McMillan – mother of Ernie McMillan – died in battle against Thomas Nott. Governor for Hogwarts, Death Eater Lucius Malfoy – parent of Draco Malfoy – defeated in battle by Ginny Weasley, Neville Longbottom and Colin Creevy Death Eater Brian Parkinson – father of Pansy Parkinson – died in battle against Harvey Abbot – father of Hannah Abbot – and Remus Lupin. Death Eater Sissy Parkinson – mother of Pansy Parkinson – sent into a coma in battle against Hailey Abbot – mother of Hannah Abbot. Dennis Creevy – brother of Colin Creevy, son of Charlotte and Boris Creevy – died in battle against Lucius Malfoy before he was defeated. Hannah Abbot – daughter of Hailey and Harvey Abbot – died in battle against Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zambini. Gregory Goyle – son of Death Eaters Gregory Goyle Sr. – died in battle. Pavarti Patil – twin sister of Padma Patil and daughter of Gagan Patil – died in battle against Theodore Nott, moments before Padma killed him. Theodore Nott – son of Death Eater Thomas Nott – died in battle against Padma Patil. Aside from those mentioned above, two each from Gryffindor and Hufflepuff were killed; along with three each from Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Other than the deaths, thousands suffered – mentally, physically and emotionally. Two weeks after the final battle between Harry Potter and Voldemort, an amazing ninety percent of those who survived but suffered physical injuries were released from St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and other Magic-Related Disorders. The remaining Death Eaters were sent to Azkaban Prison, watched under severely Auror-protected circumstances. Those who do remain in St. Mungo's include: Harry Potter who suffered serious burns on the upper left side of his body and left side of his face. Also suffered a severe loss of blood. Cuts elsewhere on his body have healed, besides the lightning bolt scar on his forehead. Hermione Granger was paralyzed from the knees down and must be restricted to a muggle-contraption called a wheelchair. Her cuts have been fully healed, but is still being treated for blood loss. Ronald Weasley suffered critical injuries. Broken bones in his left arm, busted knee cap and severe loss of blood. He is still in recovery. Ginevra Weasley suffered damage to her eyes. Blinded and still in recovery due to blood lost and skull damage. Neville Longbottom suffered severe skull damage. Is currently being treated for blood loss while he is in still comatose. Vincent Crabbe was paralyzed from the waist down and must also be restricted to a wheelchair. He is being treated for a critically damaged ribcage. Pansy Parkinson is being treated for mental illness brought upon by the battle. She is also being treated for minor blood loss and minor damage to the lumbar vertebrae in her spine. Luna Lovegood is being treated for severe blood loss. Besides those already mentioned, a number of twenty – three other Hogwarts students remain in St. Mungo's. A number of forty – six other witches and wizards still remain in St. Mungo's. Our story begins in Recovery Room Two-Nine-Four of St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and other Magic-Related Disorders- --- "Ron, I can't believe it's finally over," a girl of bright auburn hair sighed heavily as she leaned back on her semi-upright bed. "Neither can I Ginny, neither can I," Ron replied to his sister as he began wiggling his fingers on his left hand. He discovered that morning that he was able to wiggle his fingers once again. Two weeks and three days had passed since the final battle and the Magical World was resuming its peaceful ways once again. St. Mungo's had even become less crowded as it was at the beginning of the end. "Ron, why have you stopped talking?" Ginny asked trying hard not to face the direction where his voice was coming from, "You're not wiggling your fingers again are you?" "And what if I am?" Ron questioned a bit defensively, "I just got the feeling back in my fingers, I want to take advantage of this. I never knew how much my left hand meant to me until I couldn't use –" He paused and mentally smacked himself. How could he be so insensitive? There he was with his recovering left arm when his sister lay just feet away unable to see a bloody thing. "Sorry," he finally muttered." "It's okay Ron, really," Ginny insisted, "I've gotten quite used to the fact I'll never be able to see anything again. I mean, could've been worst. Could've lost my hearing – then I'd go crazy." Ron chuckled, "I'm glad this thing hasn't gotten you down Ginny." "Oh, it has," Ginny replied, "Trust me – it has! But thinking that I've only lost my sight while others have lost their lives, I consider myself lucky. Especially since mum and dad are-" she trailed off into silence. After a few moments of silence, Ginny heard snores from Ron's direction and knew he had fallen asleep due to the medication he had received moments ago by a Healer. Her thoughts wandered – against her will – back to the battle. The thought she always returned to was going against Lucius Malfoy with Neville and Colin- "You pathetic children think you can defeat me?" Lucius mocked, wand out – ready to curse. Ginny, Neville, Colin and Dennis stood before him with their wands outstretched, also ready to curse. "Avada Kedavra!" Lucius pointed at Dennis. Before anyone could do anything, Dennis screamed bloody murder and had fallen into the dirt and grass. Without a second thought, Ginny, Neville and Colin screamed, "Avada Kedavra!" Lucius tried to back away, but was hit by all three spells and twitched in the air before falling hard onto the ground. Colin dropped to his brother's side as Neville stood near to protect Colin while he said goodbye to his dead brother. "You'll pay for this traitor!" A voice said. Ginny whipped her head in the direction and saw Gregory Goyle Sr. toss his dead son onto the ground as he pointed his wand at another person. "I'll cause you more pain than you'll ever know you blood traitor!" Without a thought, Ginny lunged at the figure, pushing them to the ground and felt a searing pain in her head as she flew towards the grass. She felt something hard and cold hit her head as darkness engulfed her. A soft rapping at the door broke Ginny's thoughts and brought her back to the present. She wiped the sweat which had accumulated at her hair line as she replayed the memory. "Hello? Who is it?" Ginny called as she faced the direction of the knocking. "A friend." The voice answered, "Who?" Ginny asked, "You sound very familiar." "Just-a friend." --- Comments are good for the soul =) Like soup. QUOTE (LaLaLuna @ Jul 20 2004, 03:32 AM) I second what Sarah said, forget the rest for now and keep posting this one, because I can't wait to see what happens. Ahaha.. If I forgot about my other fics, all my other readers would hunt me down and kill me LoL.. That and Andi had to read an 11-page chapter. I don't think she'll like knowing that she had to read it for nothing LoL. Sarah:: All you ever care about is Ron, hmm? Hannah:: *gives tissues* Although I'm sure you won't need those.. unless I randomly decided to kill someone off in a future chapter. ^__^ Mary:: PrimaVoldie thanks you =] LoL You're printing out ficcles? I should start doing that too. Although my parents will be concerned as to why the printing paper is slowly disappearing Andi:: Yup, you're slow, but I love you anyway =] Lucky for you guys, I've written the second chapter before even I'd begun posting. Enjoy. (And yeah, it is shorter than the first. but *shrug* Oh well ^__^) Chapter Two | Unexpected Visitor "Just a friend? Not being real specific you know," Ginny said as she stared in the person's direction. "From what I can tell by your voice, you're a male, possibly older than me and you don't want me knowing who you are." "I am a male, I am older than you and you're right," he paused, "I don't want you to know who I am." "So then why should I talk to you?" "You don't have to talk to me," he paused and continued when she didn't respond, "I merely came here to thank you." "Thank me? For what? Being blind?" She mocked, "Yes," he said simply, She gasped, "What? Why you insensitive jerk! Thanking me for my new disabilities! Why I have every reason to take this wand," she searched her pocket for her wand and grasped a long piece of wood she knew as her wand and pulled it out, "and hex you to the next continent!" "Slow down Miss Weasley, let me explain," she grew silent, "If it hadn't been for you pushing me during the battle, I would've been the one here. I want to thank you for doing that. I also want to apologize. I should be the one in that bed, not me. I should be the one forced to never see again. I should have been the one to pay the consequences. It's not fair you paid the price when I did the crime." "Crime-" Ginny paused remembering her memory, the one she always replayed in her mind, "That Death Eater- Goyle's father he called you - a traitor. A –" "Blood traitor," he finished bitterly, "Because I decided to fight for the Light. Because I decided to fight along side muggle-borns and half-bloods. He calls all of us fighting for the Light that." He chuckled, "And I killed his knucklehead of a son." "I recall Ron battling Goyle, why did his father attack you?" Ginny questioned, "Ron was battling Goyle, until I told him to help Hermione and to let me handle Goyle." He replied, "After Goyle hit the floor, his father saw and came at me. I thought it'd be the end of me when he said he'd cause me pain. I thought he'd kill me then in there. Then I remember being pushed to the ground and seeing you get hit by the spell and land on the ground. I thought he killed you because you didn't move after wards." He paused, "Snape took care of Goyle's father afterwards. I was relieved to find out you weren't dead. Goyle's father didn't use the killing curse. Instead he used –" "The Cruciatus Curse. Luckily I had placed a shielding spell around me before I battled with Lucius bloody Malfoy. I only received half the pain I would have originally received, but the spell was concentrated on my head and I suppose that's why I was blinded," Ginny finished. "That's why you were blinded," he said, "Goyle's father probably wanted my brain to hurt until it exploded. I'm sorry-" "Enough of being sorry," Ginny insisted, "What's done is done and we can't change anything. Besides, I knew I was taking a huge risk when I pushed you out of the way." "If you remember that, then do you now realize who I am?" He asked curiously, "Actually, I can't," Ginny admitted, "No matter how many times that scene replays in my mind – starting from when Malfoy killed Dennis Creevy and ending when I hit the ground – I can never make out the person who I pushed." "Then it's better this way," He said softly, "It's better you don't know me." "Why is that?" Ginny questioned, "Just, trust me," he replied, "I don't want you forever hating and cursing my name because I was able to keep my sight and you weren't." "Hey now! I never said anything about hating you," Ginny said defensively, "If I hated you I would've said it by now because a lot of hatred built inside me the first week I was in here." "So what happened to all that hatred?" "It turned to sadness." Ginny sighed heavily as she felt stray hair fall on her face and tickle her nose. Tucking the strands behind her ear – after several attempts to get them all – she continued, "I was so upset that I lost my sight. Then remembering how my parents were dead, how other people's parents were dead- how Dennis was dead- I realized how horrible I was for feeling pity for myself. I hadn't even considered how lucky I was to even be alive," she sighed again, "So, stop thinking I hate you." "Okay, then I'm sorry," "Stop saying sorry. I told you, get over it. I sure have. I've gotten used to the fact I'll never see again, so just stop saying sorry," Ginny insisted as a wave of déjà vu went through her. Hadn't it been moments ago when she said the same thing to Ron? Darn, him and Ron think alike- keeps apologizing. "Fine," he replied, "Can I at least feel guilty?" "I'd say no, but I can't stop you can I?" Ginny offered a smile. He smiled, knowing she couldn't see it, "So confirm this for me, is my brother asleep?" "Yes. He's not fake snoring if that's what you're thinking. He's been out for about ten minutes now," he explained, "Have you been here since before he fell asleep?" Ginny asked a bit surprised, "Well, not really. I was standing outside letting you two talk. Then I heard him fall asleep and knew it was my chance to talk to you," he replied. "Oh-" Ginny trailed before thinking of something else to talk about, "So why did you wait until he fell asleep? Ron wouldn't have minded if you came." "I wanted to talk to you alone. This is as much privacy I'll have talking to you with your brother in the same recovery room as yourself, besides- I know if Ron knew who I was, he'd tell you. Like I said, I don't want you knowing the person who could've been in your place." He answered, "Don't want you knowing the person who you should hate." "And I told you, I wouldn't hate you." Ginny repeated, "So please, tell me." "Well, okay. I'm –" he cut off as he heard noise from Ron's bed. Watching intently, he saw Ron turn his head and he knew any moment Ron would wake up, "I'm sorry Miss Weasley, I have to go." "But why?" Ginny asked saddened by the thought of being alone with her thoughts again, afraid to return to the battlefield in her memory. "I just have to go. Goodbye," "Wait," Ginny said quickly not hearing foot steps retreat into the hallway, "Yes?" He asked urgently, his eyes darting between Ginny and Ron. "Will you come back again?" Ginny asked, "It's boring just talking to Ron day after day." "I-" He paused to think. He never planned on returning again. He merely wanted to thank her and move on. He saw her blink at him, although she didn't see him, she merely looked in the direction of his voice. He saw a pleading look in her eyes and hesitantly he replied, "Yes- I will come back. Goodbye Miss Weasley." She listened as she heard him close the door and the muffled sound of footsteps fade away into silence. She thought about her mystery man as suddenly she heard a grunt from Ron's direction. Absentmindedly, she sat up straight and faced towards his location, "Ron?" "Hmm?" Ron opened his eyes and looked around and saw Ginny looking at him. He'd gotten used to her being able to face his direction without being able to see him. "Ginny-" He scratched his head with his right hand, "Was I dreaming, or- were you talking to someone?" Ginny laid back against her pillow and closed her mind; debating whether or not to tell Ron. Finally she decided to keep it to herself. "Just dreaming." "Okay-" Ron said reluctantly and fell silent again. After hearing his snores once more she closed her eyes and tried to block the sounds of Ron- She felt herself return to the battle field. She saw Neville standing as Colin was kneeling beside the body of his dead brother. She heard Gregory Goyle Sr. yell out his threats and as she lunged towards the person in danger, she tried hard concentrating on who it was – only to draw a blank- Her eyes opened as she sat up straight. She breathed heavily as she felt tiny drops of sweat fall against her temples. Who was it she saved? No matter how many times she concentrated on the face, she could never pick out the finer details, not even his nose, mouth or eyes. Wiping the sweat from her forehead, she settled back down against her pillow again as she calmed her rapid heart. Strangely, Ron's snores calmed her quickly and she was fine again. However one question remained: Who was he? -------------------- |

Awww, that was so sweet! Poor Ginny, I bet she's killing herself over not knowing who he is. I know I would be at least. It's good that she has some company now though. Although I don't see what's wrong with Ron.
I can't wait to see who this mysterious person is -------------------- ![]() |

Yeah, yeah, I suppose you're right, the readers of your other fics would be upset (me included, because I'm reading those too
Sooo. . .when can we start guessing who the mystery guy is? Or is he totally obvious and we should already know his identity? Anyway, great chapter, PPMS. Hanna -------------------- IKWT! Sarah.. don't be a liar, You know who it is because I told you last night! LoL.
Hanna - You can start guessing whenever you like. But you don't really find out who it is until *pulls out notebook* Chapter 4. *nids* Yup, right here says "Discovers it's ..." ^__^ But.. just to keep things safe and secretive. If you have any guesses who it is, just say you think you know who it is and PM me your guesses. I'd love to see ^__^ =] -------------------- |

Another great fiction, Angel! Yes, I print away. I have limited internet time and I prefer the feel of paper (I'm old!) when reading. One must invest in a paper company before printing fanfics--I've gone through a ream and a half in about 2 weeks.

Andi: Yes dear, ANOTHER ONE. *cackles* Just wait until I get this done and 7th Year.. Then another new one will pop out =]
Mary: Yes, the feel of paper when reading is good. I like printing some fics out too so when I'm unable to access a computer, I can just read what I have ^__^ Mia: Glad you love this heh. I like to think I'm original LoL.. Although that could also be mistakened for 'odd' =] Amanda: LoL I live to make stories sad. Thanks and I hope you can't guess who it is. That means I didn't do a good enough job! LoL. I was going to post this after I had written chapter 4. Alas, I am posting it now. Have fun, it's another one of my 11-page chapters.. Mwahahah *continues cackling* *clears throat* Actually, it's just a lot of dialogue. Unlike Chapter 1 which was all explaining, this is a lot of dialogue. BUT! It holds a LOT of information and foreshadowing. Enjoy. Chapter 3 | Reunion in Room Two-Nine-Four The next day, as if on cue, a soft knock came to Ginny's door when Ron's snores became audible. Turning to face the door she was too anxious to know who it was. She hoped it was him. "Who is it?" "It's me," that familiar, masculine voice replied. She smiled inwardly, "So you kept your word," she offered a smile, "I always keep my word," he insisted. "Why don't you have a seat?" She pointed to the aisle she knew between hers and Ron's beds with her wand. Under her breath she conjured a chair – at least, hoping it looked remotely like a chair. To her luck – although she didn't know – it was a chair. A beautiful, Victorian styled rocking chair made of a rich brown oak. Awkwardly, he walked towards the chair and sat down. "So, what do you want to talk about?" Ginny inquired. "You're asking me?" He asked slightly chuckling, "The way you were hesitant to allow me to leave here yesterday, I thought you had already a million questions to ask me." "I do have a million questions to ask you," Ginny admitted, "But I thought it would be pretty rude of me to suddenly start bombarding you with tons of questions." He looked over his shoulder at the ever-snoring Ron, "Well it looks like your brother's in a heavy state of sleep, so bombard me with those questions." "Either you're really friendly, or this is a last resort to help this conversation," Ginny let out a small laugh. It had been so long since she last laughed. "It's the latter, trust me." "Okay, well, how about your family?" Ginny asked, "What about my family?" He questioned a bit bitterly, "You're parents, what do they do?" Ginny asked cautiously, afraid to make him a bit more upset than he was appearing to be, "Nothing, they're both dead," He said in a hollow tone. "Oh, I'm sorry," Ginny bit her lip, "Don't be." He sighed heavily, "I've gotten used to the idea, trust me." "Well, I was going to ask how life is at home, but I guess I can't exactly ask –" "It's hell, but now that I've left Hogwarts I can get away from that prison I'm forced to go to every summer," he interrupted, "Speaking of Hogwarts- how long ago did you leave Hogwarts?" Ginny asked, "This was my final year," he explained and quickly added, "Yes, I'm only a year older than you," when he saw her smile. Looking away as she felt that familiar heat creep onto her cheeks. "You don't have to look away," he said as she didn't look back at him for quite some time, "I've seen you blush a million times." This only made her turn a dark shade of red, "Well, I can prevent you from seeing me a million and one times blushing." Slightly chuckling, he continued, "So, what else would you like to know about me? Besides my name of course." "Now, that's not fair," she turned to face him as she felt no longer the heat from blushing, "Yesterday you were willing to tell me who you are, now you're refusing?" "Well, I would have told you, but it seems I had to leave, besides, that was yesterday," He replied, "Fine," Ginny crossed her arms as she leaned back against her pillow and turned her head towards him, "What do you plan to do now that you've finished Hogwarts?" "Being an Auror has always been an interesting occupation for me. I may just send in an application with my O.W.L.S. and N.E.W.T.S. to the Ministry this summer. One of my Professors from Hogwarts said he'd recommend me to the Minister-" he let his sentence trail as he heard her go silent. It was no secret who the Minister of Magic was – Arthur Weasley, of course, that was before his death during the war. After the Magical world learned that Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore were telling the truth about the Dark Lord 3 years prior, the Magical community decided that they couldn't trust Cornelius Fudge anymore. He was kicked out of the Ministry and Percy was demoted in the Ministry. Despite his pride, Percy had full out apologized to his entire family for his foolishness and naïveté response to the Dark Lord's resurrection. Slowly they began rebuilding their family. Ginny turned her head away from him, hiding the tears threatening to spill over her cheeks. She felt a lump in her throat as the memory of her parents came to her mind. She tried to blink back the tears, but that only encouraged them to brim her eyelids. He sat there in silent guilt. Running his hand through his hair, causing it to mess slightly – locks of his hair sticking at odd angles. He cursed himself for what he said and watched her silently as she kept her face far from facing him. He felt the guilt tugging at his heart. He had never felt such powerful guilt. Never felt something make his heart ache. Why was he feeling this? This was the first time – in all his 17 years – he had ever felt this feeling towards a girl. Could he be falling in love? Shaking his head to dismiss the questions forming in his conscience, he silently made his way to the other side of the bed so he was now facing Ginny. He saw the silent tears trickle down her freckle-sprinkled cheeks and he felt that tugging feeling at his heart. Without realizing what he was doing, he sat on the edge of her bed and gently pulled her to him. He wrapped his arms around her. Ginny was in silent shock. She felt a part of the mattress go down and before she knew it, she felt her head against his chest. She felt his body warm her and felt his hand gently stroking her hair. "I'm sorry, I never meant to bring back memories for you," he said quietly, "It's okay, really," she insisted quietly as she brushed away her tears. She grabbed the hand which was stroking her hair and brought it in front of her so she was no longer entangled in his embrace. She laid against her pillow, not realizing she was still holding onto his hand. "Sorry I lost it there, you'd think by now I would've gotten used to the fact my parents are-gone," she decided not to say the obvious adjective of what her parents were. "Don't be sor – what's wrong?" He asked suddenly as she held her forehead, eyes shut tightly. "Are you okay?" "Yes, I just feel like I'm spinning – trust me it feels just as bad as seeing yourself spinning," She offered a small smile before cringing again. "Do you want me to get a Healer?" He offered, "No, no it's okay," Ginny insisted, "the Healers told me I'd be getting frequent head aches because of the damage done to my skull." "How'd your skull get damaged?" He asked curiously, "When I fell, I didn't get knocked out for not reason," Ginny began as she felt the pain dulling slightly and just become a throbbing pain on the left side of her skull, "When I hit the ground, I hit a rock. Right about here," She gently ran her hand over the area where the pain was present. "So that's why you have these bandages," He said as ran his fingers over the material partially hidden by her red locks. "Does it still hurt?" "Yes," She replied bluntly, "But I can handle it." "I hate to leave you in all this pain, but I have some errands to do before the evening," He said as he stood up. "It's okay, you can go, as long as you promise to come back tomorrow," Ginny said facing where she heard his voice, "I promise," he said in a whisper as he ran his fingertips along her cheek just before she heard his foot steps distance themselves. She heard the door closing and muffled footsteps fade into silence. *** "Ron?" Ginny called as she heard his snores stop about ten minutes after he had left. "Yeah?" He groggily said as he turned his head to face Ginny who was also facing him, "Just seeing if you were awake," Ginny answered, "Oh, okay," Ron faced the ceiling above him, "Oh, Gin, I forgot to tell you." "What's that?" She raised an eyebrow at him, "Hermione's being released tomorrow and she wanted to stop by and visit us before she goes home," Ron replied, "Is that okay?" "Of course Ron," Ginny said happily, "It'll be good to have someone come visit who isn't a man." "What?" Ron whipped his head towards Ginny, "Have you been getting visitors?" "No, no," Ginny said quickly, "I just mean, it'll be good to have someone here who isn't a guy. I mean, All I ever have is you here talking to me. I love you and everything Ron, but talking to your brother day after day gets boring." Although Ginny couldn't see it, Ron gave her a suspicious expression before going back to inspecting the ceiling. *** The next day around ten in the morning, there was a knock at the door. Ginny faced the door wondering who it was, "Come on in," Ron called. The door opened and Hermione came in. She pushed the joystick on her muggle wheelchair to the isle between Ron and Ginny, "Morning Ron, Ginny," she greeted as she took Ginny's hand in her own. Ginny swung her legs over the edge as she felt Hermione guide her. She bent down and hugged Hermione and then slowly back up against her bed and climbed back in, "It's good to hear you again Hermione." "I know, it's been ages since I last saw you two." She wheeled herself over to Ron. Ron slowly moved to the edge of his bed and planted a kiss on her lips. "You look beautiful Hermione." "Really?" She asked raising an eyebrow, "Well, as beautiful as someone could look after they just had a million cuts healed," He grinned, "I see your sensitivity is still the same as a doorknob," she replied crisply after hitting him playfully in the arm facing her – his right arm. "It's good to hear you two bicker," Ginny smiled as she faced their direction, "Some things never change. So how are you Herms?" "I've been better," Hermione explained, "Besides being confined to this contraption, I'm fine. How about you?" "Besides never being able to see again," Ginny offered a smile, "I'm fine as well. Of course, I do have headaches now and then." "Now and then? More like every ten minutes, Gin," Ron corrected in a protective tone, "Really? Gin are you sure that's normal?" Hermione asked, tone full of concern, "Well considering I did have a concussion from that bloody rock and I still have skull damage, then yes – I'm sure it's normal," Ginny replied, "Okay," Hermione replied reluctantly, "If you're sure." There came a knock against the door frame, "Can I come join this little get together?" Ginny heard the voice and it was too familiar, "Harry!" Hermione gasped, "You shouldn't be up!" "I'm not up," Harry chuckled, "I'm sitting aren't I?" Ginny smiled when she realized it was Harry. She knew that voice somewhere and it was Harry, "Sitting? Are you in a wheelchair too Harry?" "Sure am Gin," he said in a weak voice, "But only until I fully recovered." "Lucky you," Hermione said bitterly, "Sorry Mione I didn't mean to offend you," Harry apologized as he pushed the joystick and moved forward into the aisle as well, "It's okay," Hermione sighed heavily as she felt Ron's hand on her shoulder. "Harry, how are your burns?" Ginny faced his direction, "Ron told me you looked brutal after everything." Harry took Ginny's hand in his own and squeezed it slightly, "I'm fine, how about you?" "As fine as one could feel after a concussion," Ginny smiled, "Well, I'm sure you'll feel better in now time. I mean, my burns are almost healed so it's only a matter of time until you feel better," Harry lied. Hermione gave Harry a questioning look, as did Ron. Both their expressions asked him What are you playing at?' Harry shook his head dismissively. His burns weren't healed. He wore hospital slacks but his upper torso was bare. The left side of his abdomen was bright red. Skin looked like it was scrapped off and the skin still there was loosely hanging on to him. The left side of his chest was covered in a big white patch of bandage. Little droplets of blood had made their way through the thick material. His left arm was bandaged completely until his wrist. "I hate to interrupt this reunion," a voice Ginny recognized as her Healer said, "But it's time for Ginevra to take her medication." The Healer, in pale green scrubs entered. She had an olive complexion and raven hair which was constricted in a tight bun. "Morning Grace," Ginny greeted the Healer as she heard Grace walk around her bed to the night stand. "Morning Ginevra," Grace replied, "Mr. Potter, should you be out and about like that? I don't remember Healer Johnson allow you to be out of bed." "Oh Grace, you know Johnson's a stick in the mud," Harry said, "I feel great. Never better in fact." "Potter, don't tell me Johnson's apprentice, Sam, gave you morphine again. He did, didn't he?" Grace questioned, "Just a little dose," Harry grinned up at the scowling Healer. "I told Sam to stop using those Muggle medications on patients," Grace hissed, "Just because his Muggle father uses it at his hospital, doesn't mean we need it here. Hand." Ginny held out her hand as always. She felt two pills pressed into her hand and popped them in her mouth. She felt a glass of water in front of her and she grabbed it and drank it to help the pills down. "That'll help the headaches for about five hours as always," Grace insisted, "You'll be knocked out in minutes anyways, so you shouldn't feel them if you are having them." "Okay," Ginny yawned as she heard Grace walking back towards the door, "Potter, I better not catch you out of bed again," Grace said fiercely, "Aw, c'mon Gracie, you think I like being confined to that blasted room? It's down the hall from here," Harry whined like a little kid, "Potter, I mean it!" "At least ask Johnson to move me across the hall," Harry offered, "There aren't any rooms available Potter," Grace sighed heavily, "Don't lie to me Grace! I saw that empty room across the hall!" Harry replied, "I'll do what I can," Grace insisted as she headed out the door, "And next time Sam offers you morphine, say NO!" With a small slam of the door, Ginny knew Grace had left. "I can't stay awake, sorry guys," Ginny yawned again as she closed her eyes, although it made no difference to her. "It's okay, just get some rest Ginny," Hermione insisted, "Yeah, rest up," Harry said as he gave her another gentle squeeze on her hand before finally letting go of it. "Night," she yawned before turning onto her left side so her back was facing them and felt slumber overtake her. *** Moments later, when they were positive Ginny had become victim to her medication, Harry faced Hermione and Ron's questioning looks, "Why did you tell Ginny you were all healed?" Hermione questioned, "What are you playing at Harry?" Ron asked, "She's the only one who doesn't have to see me like this. I don't want her to see me like this," Harry explained, "Do you like my sister Harry?" Ron raised an eyebrow, "No, but I care about her," Harry replied, "I thought if I didn't tell her I was still like this then she'd feel some comfort from me." "I wish I had some comfort," Ron sighed, Hermione pinched his hand which was still on her shoulder, "Ouch. I didn't mean it like that. My arm's still killing me you know." "Well, Sam has morphine," Harry grinned mischievously, "Harry!" Hermione scolded, "Really? Does this morphine really work?" Ron raised an eyebrow in interest, "Ron! No! I will not allow you to –" Ron covered Hermione's mouth with the hand she had pinched, "Well, does it work?" Ron repeated, "Sure does. I was walking around yesterday. Of course, for only a short time because Johnson saw me walking down that hallway and made me go back to my room," Harry replied, "But it was good to be up and walking again. Took me awhile to get my balance though, the blood loss and all." "Blimey," Ron said in awe, "I should ask Sam to give me a dose or two. I could really – OUCH!" Hermione released the piece of his palm she had bitten down on. "Ron, I won't allow you to take morphine! It could be dangerous!" Hermione argued, "Mione, if it was dangerous, would I be taking it?" Harry asked, "And if it was dangerous, I certainly wouldn't suggest Ron use it." Hermione crossed her arms, "Still. If I'd known you were taking morphine I wouldn't have allowed you either. Who knows what that can do to your system!" "Mione, they use morphine in muggle hospitals. Obviously it's not dangerous!" Harry said exasperatedly, "You of all people should know that!" "I don't mean morphine on it's own, Harry. I mean morphine mixed in with the wizard medication we're given could be dangerous," Hermione said matter-of-factly. "Well, nothing has happened yet," Harry offered, but that made Hermione just scowl more. "So Ron, how's that knee of yours?" He asked as he ran his hand through his hair, making it even more messier than it was before- his dark hair sticking at odd angles. "Healers were muttering something the other day about the patella still healing. Whatever that is." Ron explained, "The patella's your knee cap Ron," Hermione said, "Being a Healer was one of the occupations I found interesting," She replied after getting quizzical expressions from both Harry and Ron. "You know what I find interesting," Ron glanced past Harry at Ginny for a moment before continuing, "Two days ago I fell asleep because of my medication. When I was getting out of the daze I was sure I heard Ginny talking to someone." "That's crazy Ron," Hermione insisted, "I don't know Mione," Ron replied, "I was sure I heard her talking to someone. Yesterday she even said something about it being good that it'll be someone other than a man to visit her." "You don't think it's some stranger coming, do you? Like a stalker?" Hermione asked quietly, "That's exactly what I'm worried about," Ron answered, "I don't like her having visitors when I'm out like a rock. She can't see anymore and that's a big disadvantage for her when she's by herself." "Yeah, I can see why you're worried," Hermione nodded, "But if Ginny ever felt threatened by this person, she would've told you- wouldn't she?" "I don't think so," Ron said, "I think her knowing something I don't gives her a little freedom. Ever since she lost her sight I'd been telling her everything that's been going around that she couldn't hear. I think her not telling me was a way she could have information without my help. She doesn't like depending on people too much – makes her feel weak and a burden to others." "She always has been too considerate for her own good. A bit naïve as well," Hermione agreed. She turned to Harry, "What do you think? You've been awfully quiet." Harry was hesitant to reply, "I just think that if there was somebody coming to visit Gin and if there was a reason to worry, she would've known. If she ever felt threatened, she would've told you, Ron." "I don't know Harry," Ron replied skeptically, "Listen, trust Gin on this one. I think keeping this from you is the only privacy she feels since she's sharing this room with you. I know what it's like to want privacy," Harry explained, "That's why I take the morphine to let me walk around the hall. Not like I don't get tons of privacy in my own room." "Privacy? You share a room as well?" Hermione asked, Solemnly, Harry nodded while his eyes observed the specked tiles of the floor. "Who's in your room?" Ron asked, "Neville," Ron's jaw dropped and Hermione let out a small gasp, "Yeah. But like I said, I get tons of privacy in my room. It's just- creepy being there with him there." "What do you mean? Neville's okay- isn't he?" Hermione inquired, "I'm not sure," Harry answered in a flat tone, still admiring the tile work. "Every time the Healers come in, they always talk in hushed voices. As if I'm some child they're trying to protect," He said the last part bitterly. "What happened to him during the war?" Ron questioned, "Well, I'm assuming he got hit really hard in the head. From what I could actually hear from the Healers, he has severe skull damage. That would explain why he's in comatose." Hermione covered her mouth with her hand, "If only I could've helped Neville after he got rid of Bellatrix-" "It's not your fault your calves were damaged during the battle," Harry said looking up at them, "You can't blame yourself. I bet if Neville's parents were still- you know- they would've been so proud of him..." Hermione and Ron nodded in silent agreements. Neville's parents had slowly begun to regain their memories during their Sixth Year- Healers say their improvements began when Neville visited them in the Christmas of their Fifth Year. Neville was overjoyed when his parents were released the Winter of their Seventh Year. They – Frank and Alice Longbottom – had fought during the war as well. However, their deaths came when they were ambushed by six Death Eaters: Rudolphus and Bellatrix LeStrange, Thomas Nott, Lucius Malfoy, Gregory Goyle Sr. and Victor Crabbe (father of Vincent Crabbe). Of course, after the deaths of his parents, Neville went into a rage. After defeating Lucius with the aide of Ginny and Colin, he went after Bellatrix- who, at the time, was dueling with Hermione. Suddenly a knock came at the door. They all looked up to see who it was. Ron's jaw dropped, Hermione had a quizzical expression on her face and Harry looked like he had just seen a ghost. "Pro- Professor Trelawney?" Ron stuttered, "Hmm? Is that you Mr. Weasley, yes, it is I. The possessor of The Eye," She said in her mystical voice then in a bitter and low tone she added, "The blasted Eye that turned on me and stabbed me in the back with its fake powers." Hermione raised an eyebrow in confusion, "Are you alright Professor?" "Yes I am. I also See that you shall be alright too Miss Granger," She said in her mystical voice, only to return to the bitter voice saying, "Although the Eye has cursed me. Blast the Eye!" "Sybil?" A voice questioned as a black Healer in deep green scrubs came to the door way, "What are you doing here? You should be on the Fourth Floor. Hope he isn't disturbing you kids-" He trailed as he caught sigh of Harry, "Potter, what are you doing in here?" "Just a stroll," Harry grinned innocently, "Yeah," He replied unconvinced, "Sam gave you that muggle drug again, didn't he?" Harry shrugged, giving an expression as innocent as possible, "I knew it! I'll need a word with him!" "Calm down Johnson," Harry insisted to the Healer, "Nothing's gone wrong yet." "I'll come back for you Potter, I'm just going to escort Professor Trelawney here to the Fourth floor." With that, Johnson gently took Trelawney by the arm and led her away. "What's on the Fourth Floor?" Ron asked, "Spell Damage," Hermione answered quickly, "You don't remember Ron because you were knocked out by medication, but that's where they took you before taking you here to the Recovery Hall. Harry on the other hand was brought to the First Floor for burns." "What about you?" Harry questioned, "I never saw you here when I took my walks the past few days." "I was placed in Spell Damage and stayed there," Hermione explained, "They only needed to treat me for blood loss, otherwise I would've been released a week ago." "Okay Potter," Johnson said as he reentered the room, "Let's go." "Before you drag me away from my friends," Harry said, "Why is Professor Trelawney here?" "Seems during the war Trelawney had a near death experience – or so she claims," Johnson explained, "Since then she's been talking to herself. She'd predict things then curse the Eye'." "But she remembered us," Hermione interrupted, "Why is she in Spell Damage?" "She's being transferred later this afternoon. We brought her there because we thought she was hit with a spell like that Lockhart fellow. We were wrong. But that near death experience has really got her startled," Johnson said, "We're moving her to the Recovery Hall until she starts acting like more herself again." "So that's why she went all mystical then cursed the Eye," Ron said, "Indeed. Well Potter, time to go. I suspect that muggle drug is wearing off already," Johnson ordered, "It wore off right when you first came to bring Trelawney away," Harry admitted, "Blood hell Harry!" Ron exclaimed, "Why didn't you say anything?" Hermione demanded, "I knew Johnson would be dragging me away anyway. No need to dampen the mood by saying my left arm felt like it was burning in an inferno, my chest felt like it was being barbecued or that my stomach felt like I was being stabbed a couple hundred times," Harry gave a grin, as Johnson took hold of the handles on his wheelchair. "Bye!" He called and waved as Johnson pushed him out the door and down the hall to his own room. "Well I have to go to," Hermione interrupted the silence between Ron and herself as she turned the wheelchair to face him. "Do you have to?" Ron asked as he cupped the side of her face with his right hand, "I'll be back later. I'll come everyday that you're here," Hermione assured him as she wheeled herself as close as possible to him. "Fine," Ron sighed as he carefully leaned towards her and pressed his lips against hers. She pulled back hesitantly, "I'll be back, don't worry. I wouldn't abandon you." She held the side of his face with her hand, "You know I love you." "And I, you," Ron replied as he grabbed a hold of her hand. "Bye," Hermione said softly as she pulled away from him and wheeled out the door. "Ron?" Ron turned to face Ginny who was now facing his direction, "Did Hermione and Harry leave already?" "Yes. Hermione just left," Ron replied, "Is there anything you need, Gin? Anything wrong?" "No, I'm fine," Ginny replied groggily as she closed her eyes and felt the sleepy, druggy feeling pass over, "Did anyone else come besides Hermione and Harry?" "Actually yeah," Ron answered, Ginny felt her heart race a little, "Who was it?" "Trelawney," her heart fell, "Oh-" Ginny said, hoping her voice didn't sound like disappointment, "Why was Trelawney here?" Ron then began a full out explanation about their visit with Trelawney and why she was there. *** Later that night, Ginny woke up. She sat up straight, breathing heavily and felt the collar of her hospital gown drenched in sweat. Wiping the cool drops from her forehead, she laid back down. She had returned to the battlefield in her sleep. Taking a deep breath, she calmed herself. That's when she heard movement, "Who's there?" She said shakily, searching her tableside for her wand, "It's only me," that familiar voice replied, "Why didn't you come earlier?" Ginny questioned, "Because I knew Hermione and Harry were here. I didn't want to interrupt," he explained, "And what about afterwards?" "Hermione was here. I prefer talking to you in private," he replied, "How'd you even get in here? I'm guessing it's close to midnight already," Ginny asked, "Actually, it's only eleven," he said, "Still, visiting hours end at seven, how'd you get past the security and all the Healers?" She demanded, "I just walked past," he answered, "The Welcome-Witch was quite preoccupied with a wizard who came in with a bunch of boils on his face. So I just walked down here. All the Healers for this floor were no where in sight." "None of them?" Ginny repeated, "But there's 3 Healers on this floor. Johnson, Grace and Stella. There's also Johnson' apprentice, Sam. How could none of them be patrolling the hall?" "I did run into a puny Healer. His tag said Sam, but he was in such a hurry, he just ran by. Ran into a room down the hall where I'm assuming the other Healers were," he explained. "I see," Ginny said as she crossed her arms, "You're not still mad at me, are you?" He asked, "I said I was sorry." Ginny sighed, "I'm not mad, but if you don't mind, I'd like to go to sleep." "Very well," he replied, "Would you like me to come tomorrow?" "Of course!" She bit her lip, "I mean, yes." She hoped the room was dark, because she could feel that heat creeping up her face again. "Then I'll return tomorrow," He replied, "Goodnight." --- Angel loves comments. =] EDIT Upon reading Sarah's reply, I realized something.. the Morphine mentioned in this story could not have made an appearance had it not been for dear Andi (our Drug Queen *cackles*) So, big thanks to Andi for that tidbit information about Morphine. I knew there was a drug that made pain subside in hospitals. (And yes Sar, I hope Harry doesn't get addicted *cackles*) This post has been edited by Angel: Jul 25 2004, 06:37 AM -------------------- |

Yes Morphine.. Well I had to explain why he got to that room and why he walks around the Hospital from time to time. How else would he know where Ron was staying?
Of all the characters in this fic, I feel horrible for Seamus. *huggles* Why? Well - if you paid attention to chapter 1 LoL - Lost his mum in the war *sniff* He's so lonely now at home. Angel, I like the down to Earth way the Healers speak. I work in a hospital and that's the way we tend to get, that friendly banter going with the frequent stay patients.
Sam the drug man, LOL Hey I think it's only fair that Harry gets a room to himself. He did save the world. Hello!*says sarcastically* Great chapter, PPMS. Hanna -------------------- IKWT! Morphine! What a wonderful drug. *smiles blissfully* I agree with Hermione's concern about mixing Muggle and Magical medicine. Look what happened to Arthur with the stitches.
I really like the interaction between the characters. I found it very interesting that the healer noted Harry should not be in Ron and Ginny's room, but left him there for 'his' healer to deal with. Respect for the heirarchy. -------------------- ![]() All Aboard! |

unwanted - It made you cry!?
Hanna - Yeah, I like how I have Grace, Johnson and Stella characterized. LoL, Sam.. what crazy antics will he get into next? Either way, Johnson will lecture him to half-death bck - Here's more. Here's more. A lot more. 7 full pages and one inch on page 8 of text. Took me about an hour and half to write it all, but I'm happy of the results. Jen - I got your PM and your guesses were pretty good. Mary - Yes, my Healers like to respect each other's patients hehe. Besides, I think Grace knew Johnson was going to lecture Harry, as well as Sam, to half death about that Morphine hehe. Well, here's Chapter 4. the Chapter I promised would contain the identity of the Visitor. Do enjoy. =] Chapter 4 | Man Behind the Mystery The next morning, Ron was up at an ungodly hour. He sat up straight in bed, his left arm laying almost lifelessly on a pillow which was perched on his lap. His right arm laid carefully across it. Slouching slightly, he felt his pillows support him as he watched the minute hand on the clock before him slowly ticking. He'd been up since dawn which happened at 6:04 that morning. It had been 11 minutes since then and Ron was wide awake and unable to go back to sleep, he adjusted his bed comfortably. His eyes wandered and caught sight of Grace walking by, "Morning Grace," "Morning Ronald," she replied as she walked by then suddenly doubled back. Her eyes grew wide, "What's wrong?" Ron questioned, "I should be asking that," Grace said breathlessly, "You're up? At this hour? Please tell me I'm dreaming! You're NEVER up this early." "Well, I've never had a reason to be uncomfortable in my sleep," Ron replied as he watched Grace lean against the door frame, arms crossed. "Uncomfortable? Your bed getting on your nerves?" Grace suggested, "No- Grace, has any visitors come for Ginny?" Ron asked. "Not that I recall-" Grace trailed off, "I'll check the records for you." She disappeared out of sight and reappeared within minutes, a black clip board in her hands. The clip board was made of hard dragon hide and numerous papers were latched underneath the metal clip. "Any date you're looking for?" "Since we got here two and a half weeks ago," Ron said, "Any since then?" Grace flipped back about eleven pages and began skimming, "I don't see anyone so far for either of you, of course.. Besides the visit Charles and William paid the day after they were released." She continued down the list, "Fredrick and George-Here we go." Ron looked at her in alarm, "Who is it?" "Visit for Miss Weasley on June 31st at exactly four minutes past three in the afternoon," Grace read aloud, "Who is it?" Ron repeated, hardly noticing he said it through gritted teeth, "Calm down Ronald, or you'll end up giving yourself a heart attack," Grace snapped, "it's," she ran her finger across the chart to the name, "Seamus Finnigan." "Seamus-" Ron repeated, "Are you sure that visit was for Ginny?" "Well, Ginevra is the only Miss Weasley here, so yes. I'm positive it's for her," Grace replied, "Well, I guess that answers your question, your sister's had a visit from a Mr. Seamus Finnigan." "Is he the only visitor for her? Has there been any more?" Ron asked, Sighing, Grace continued down to the end of the page, flipped the paper and continued skimming, "Visit for Miss Weasley on July 1st at exactly twenty-three minutes past two in the afternoon," Grace read aloud, "Also signed Seamus Finnigan." "Any more?" Ron asked again, curious to see how many visits Seamus had been giving to Ginny. Flipping the page, Grace paused at the middle of the first page of the stack under the clip, "What's wrong?" Ron asked as he saw the confusion on Grace's face, "That's- strange," Grace said aloud, sounding more to herself than directing it to Ron, "It says after the visit from Miss Granger: Visit for Miss Weasley on July 2nd at exactly two minutes past eleven in the evening signed Seamus Finnigan." "What's so strange about-" Ron trailed until the truth dawned upon him, "Two minutes past eleven? That's impossible, visiting hours end at seven." "That's what's strange," Grace replied, "Maybe it was a mistake Seamus made?" Ron suggested, "Wrote in the evening' instead of in the morning'?" "No mistakes are ever made," Grace said, "When a visitor comes in, they sign their name and who they wish to visit. The date and time is automatically recorded magically. So this Mr. Finnigan must have really visited Ginevra late last night- but how?" Ron clenched his right fist, "I don't know, but I don't like the idea of Seamus coming in here late at night past hours. Especially since Ginny can't see. Where were the Healers? There's three of you here, plus Sam! Who was doing patrolling last night?" "It was Stella," Grace answered, "But wait- from quarter to eleven, until eleven thirty, all of us weren't here-" "And where the bloody hell were you!?" Ron demanded angrily, "Don't snap at me Ronald," Grace replied, "One of our comatose patients came out of their coma. We had to fully attend to him and get a report on what he remembered. If anyone's to blame, it's that welcome-witch and Sam. I specifically heard Johnson tell Sam to stand guard in the hallways for visitors. That prat of an apprentice probably snuck back into the room while we were getting the report from the patient." "Well I certainly hope that doesn't happen again!" Ron said through gritted teeth, "It won't happen for the next week at least Ronald, I'll be on patrol this entire week. I'll inform the other Healers," then added in distaste, "and Sam to be wary of visitors after hours." Sighing heavily, Ron nodded as he leaned back against his pillows, "Sorry for snapping. I just, don't like people visiting Ginny when I'm not awake, especially male visitors- Even if the visitor was my roommate in Hogwarts." He sighed again, closing his eyes. "Well then," Grace said promptly, "At least now you know she's having visitors. I better return this to the front desk. I'll be back at seven to give you your medication." "Why can't you give it now?" Ron asked curiously, "I would, really I would, but Johnson's asked for Stella and myself to help him move two patients to the room across the hall. Then we have to move that Professor Trelawney down to the patients' old room down the hall," Grace explained, "But, if you feel any sudden pain before I come back in forty-five minutes, just yell for me and I'll come running with a bottle full of your medication," she smiled as he nodded in silent agreement. She left without another word, leaving the door open behind her. "So- Seamus has been Ginny's visitor. I wonder if Ginny even knows it's Seamus," Ron said to himself quietly, "I wonder if Ginny will even tell me if I ask her." Warily, Ron gazed across the room to Ginny, who was curled up sleeping, her back facing him. He turned his head to face the ceiling and closed his eyes to concentrate. *** Quite a few minutes later, Ron realized he was wide awake with his eyes closed. He had listened to every sound in his surroundings and realized what it was like to be in Ginny's position. But I'm still different from Ginny, Ron thought, Whenever I please, I'll be able to open my eyes and see what's really making what noise. Ginny will never get that freedom again- Suddenly he heard noises out in the hall, break his thoughts and he sat up straight, eyes open in alert. "Woo hoo!" a voice cheered, "We're getting moved!" "Oh be quiet," a voice that obviously belonged to Johnson hissed, "Other patients are still asleep. Especially your neighbors across from you! Mr. Weasley especially likes to sleep until nine." "Actually, he's wide awake," Grace's voice said, "Has been awake since at least six. I nearly had a heart attack at the thought!" "I heard that!" Ron called as he saw a bed being pushed into the room across the hall. However, the person in it was being blocked from view by Johnson, Grace and another Healer. "Stella!" The other Healer left her colleagues to go to Ron's room, "Yes Ron?" This Healer was of medium height, was slightly chubby and had dark brown, curly hair clipped back. Her strikingly light, blue eyes gazed at him questioningly, "Who's moving across the hall?" Ron inquired, "Friends of yours," Stella replied, "RON!" a voice called from across the room, "It's me! Harry!" Ron laughed as he heard Johnson begin scolding Harry on yelling at such an early hour, "Hey Stella, think Grace will let me out of the room?" Ron asked after getting over his fit of laughter, "I don't know Ron," Stella said as she walked over to Ron's right knee. She muttered a spell and then suddenly a metal board appeared, hovering over his knee. Tapping the inch-thick board with her wand, a neon green light - which was being generated from the side of the board facing down - scanned over Ron's knee. Tapping it again with her wand, the side facing her turned black and an x-ray appeared of Ron's knee, "Hmm. Seems your patella has healed quite nicely after that last dose of Skele-Gro the other night." She faced Ron, "Oh sorry, I don't mean to just start talking like a scientist. I mean –" "My kneecap has healed," Ron finished grinning. The shocked expression on Stella's face proved that she had not expected Ron to know that. He smiled happily and was glad that, for once, he listened to Hermione. Gathering her composure, Stella grabbed the board with her hand and began walking to the door, "I'll show this to Grace right now if you'd like, Ron." He nodded, "Yeah, I'd love to walk around again. I'd be nice to visit Harry too, seeing as he has to resort to getting help from Sam to see me," he chuckled, "Oh yes. I heard about that," Stella grinned as she stopped to face him, "Sam got quite the lecture from Johnson about that. I'll be back in a second. Grace won't mind if I just interrupt her while she's setting up their beds." "Their beds? It's not just Harry?" Ron asked, "Well, I did say friends of yours," Stella said, stressing the word friends' to show Ron what he had missed the first time, "Harry and Neville were ecstatic to hear they'd be getting moved." "Harry and Neville? You mean he's awake?" Ron said joyfully, "Yeah, came out of coma just last night," Stella replied, "He's still a bit shaken about the whole ordeal. Poor lad said he relived the battle while he was in coma. Hasn't spoken since he woke up, but I'm sure him being around his friends will get him talking again." Ron nodded, "Well, do you have any more questions, or can I show this scan to Grace?" Ron shook his head in a negative response, "Okay, I'll send Grace in then." She disappeared across the hall quietly. Ron smiled to himself, So, it was Neville who came out of coma. I'm glad he's awake. He doesn't know how much a hero he is to us. However, Ron's train of thought was broken once again when Grace came into the room, "So, you're patella is all good now Ronald?" He nodded, "I suppose you'd want to see Mr. Potter and Mr. Longbottom then?" He nodded excitedly, "Very well, but I want you to use this," she conjured a crutch next to his bed, "I doubt you'll be used to walking and I don't want too much stress going to the muscles near your kneecap." "So-I can see them now?" Ron questioned, "Yes, Ronald," Grace said as he got out of bed and, placing the crutch under his arm, slowly gained his balance, "Remember, not too much stress on your right knee, so try to keep most of your weight on your left foot." Ron nodded obediently as Grace led him across the hall just as Johnson and Stella were exiting. "We'll be leaving you three alone," Grace explained as Ron took a seat facing both Harry and Neville in a chair she had conjured, "We have to move another patient to your old room." With that, she left with the other Healers. "Neville!" Ron greeted happily, Smiling faintly, Neville waved and inclined his head in a curtly nod. "Well Harry, I found out who Ginny's visitor is," Ron replied. He explained to the silent Neville about the Ginny receiving a visitor, "Who is it?" Harry asked afterwards, "Seamus." *** Two hours later at half past nine, Ginny joined the others across the hall. "Neville? I heard you're awake now," Ginny offered a smile straight ahead of her as she took a seat next to Ron. Ron and Harry looked at Neville. Surprisingly, Neville responded, "Sure am Ginny. It's good to see you. Er- Sorry, never meant to –" "It's okay Neville," she faced the direction of his voice, "Well, I'm glad you're not in that coma anymore. How's your skull? Do you get frequent headaches now?" "Since I woke up, yes," Neville replied, "I suspect you get them as well? I saw that brutal crash to the ground." Ginny nodded, "So, what have you boys been talking about before I arrived?" "We've been wondering Ginny-" Ron began, "Have you been getting any visitors?" "No," Ginny replied hesitantly, "Don't lie to me Ginny! Grace told me!" Ron blurted before clasping his hand over his mouth. Neville stifled his laughter while Harry shook his head grinning. Ginny remained silent for quite some time, facing straight ahead of her. She didn't even move. "Ginny?" Ron started, "You're right," Ginny admitted, "I have been getting a visitor. Just one. He's come three times now." "Who is it?" Harry asked before Ron could. All of the boys wanted to know if Seamus had been truthful to Ginny, "Honestly- I don't know," Ginny said bluntly, "During all his visits, he's never left a name. Not once. All I know is that I saved him during the battle and some things about his past." "His past?" Neville inquired, "Yes," She faced Neville's direction, "Two days ago, I was asking him questions about his home life. His parents are dead, he certainly didn't like living at home and this was his last year at Hogwarts. Seems he wants to become an Auror as well." Ron gave both Harry and Neville a questioning look. All three of them were wondering why they never knew this about Seamus. They knew his mother was dead from the battle – Megan Finnigan, but they never knew what came of Seamus' father. All they knew about Mr. Finnigan was that he was a muggle. Most definitely, they didn't know Seamus hated living at home with his parents. He seemed quite happy leaving Hogwarts every June. Now, all of their minds were wondering the same thing: How could Seamus have lied to them that way? *** "Ron, if I come back and there's no food on my table, I'll be angry!" Ginny called as Grace was helping her into a wheelchair. Grace had informed Ginny just after both her and her brother returned to their room, that Grace wanted to run some tests on Ginny to see how her skull was doing. "Don't worry, if Ronald eats your food, Ginevra, I'll personally get you more," Grace said as she began pushing her out of the room, Ron grinned as he heard Harry and Neville greet Ginny as she passed them. Settling back in bed, Ron grinned at the plate before him. These plates were bewitched just like at Hogwarts, they would filled themselves with food, except for one drawback. These plates would only refill themselves five times. This was definitely a draw back for Ron Weasley, who was known to eat without proper manners and just be hungry constantly, although it seemed he didn't gain a single pound from being such a glutton. Picking up his fork and knife, Ron began to cut a piece of his chicken breast off. He ate it heartily as he began cutting and eating faster. "Miss Weasley, I've come back. I suspect your brother is fast asleep by no-" Ron looked up and nearly threw up the food in his mouth. Forcefully, he swallowed his food as he stared silently at the person in the doorway, obviously awkward and embarrassed of getting caught. He stood there, smacking himself mentally for not checking first if Ron was awake. "Malfoy? Why the hell are you visiting my sister?" Ron finally questioned, "It is a free country Weasley," Malfoy smirked, finally gaining his composure, "What? Malfoy?" Harry magically made his bed roll near the center of the room and soon Neville had joined him, both looking through their open door towards Ron, "Malfoy? You're visiting Ginny?" "Good to see you too Potter. Longbottom, good to see you're up and about," Draco inclined his head in a curtly nod. "And yes, I happen to be in fact visiting Miss Weasley. Actually. I have been the past few days." "You've been seeing my sister behind my back!?" Ron demanded, Draco smirked triumphantly as he grinned, "I've always been able to give you the slip, huh Weasley?" "Oh shut the hell- wait a second, all the visits were signed by Seamus," Ron remembered, "Well, I couldn't exactly let Miss Weasley find out who I was, now could I? I suspect she's told you that I've never left my name?" Ron, Neville and Harry said in unison, "Yes." A bit startled about finding out all three of them had known, Draco continued, "Well, Weasley, knowing you and Potter to be the nosy gits you are, I knew you'd see who was checking in to visit her. So, I signed my name according to the last person I hexed." "I wondered why it didn't fit that Seamus was visiting Ginny," Ron said, "She said the person visiting her, she saved his life. She never saved Seamus and she certainly didn't push him to the ground to take the effects of a spell." "That's very clever of you Malfoy to do that," Harry admitted, "Wait, you hexed Seamus? You're still with the Light, aren't you?" "Of course I am," Draco replied, "Finnigan and I were dueling the day before I first visited Miss Weasley. He wanted to see if he had truly healed since he was released from here, so he asked if I'd duel with him. Always happy to give a good socking to a Gryffindor, I happily agreed. As always, the Slytherin triumphs over the Gryffindor." "Oh, shut your pie hole," Harry sighed, "Seems even if you have come to your senses about which side you should be fighting on, your ego hasn't deflated much." "You have a point Potter, my ego hasn't deflated at all. It doesn't have a reason to deflate," Draco grinned, "So- you're happy about being arrogant and big-headed?" Neville suggested, "If you haven't figured it out these past seven years of being together in Hogwarts, Longbottom, then I will answer you, yes. I am happy about it," Draco said exasperatedly. "Malfoy, I want to know something," Draco faced Ron now, "Why are you visiting my sister? Because she saved your life?" "That, and I've always had my eye on her," Draco admitted, "But ever since I first came to visit her, things have changed between us. I have a more understanding of her and honestly, I've grown quite fond of her." Ron shook his head in disgust, "That's just not right. She's my little sister Malfoy." "Well, she certainly doesn't look little," Draco smirked. Ron glared at him, practically fuming, "How do I know I can trust you? You must know Ginny can't see. How do I know you're intentions are- good?" "Well, if you haven't trusted me by now, then I can't say how you can trust me. All I did was save you from fighting Goyle," Draco reminded, "Yes, I know Miss Weasley can't see. We've discussed that before actually. My intentions are as good as Potter over there. If something happens between your sister and I- well, I can't say those intentions will stay as pure." Harry and Neville were trying to sustain their laughter after Draco's statement, however, they were unsuccessful, "Guys!" Ron exclaimed, "She's my sister! That's not right! If she knew what you guys were saying, she'd hex you all into the next continent!" "She's already threatened me with that one, Weasley," Draco replied, "But I must ask you- all three of you, to not breathe a word to her about me being her visitor." "Why not?" Neville questioned, "Because if she knew it was me, I know she'd never want me to come again," Draco said, "I don't want that to happen. In the first visit, I wouldn't have minded. I mean, back then, all I wanted to do was thank her for saving me, but then she kept asking me to come back and I couldn't say no. Now, I don't want to never see her again." "Honestly Malfoy, that's so romantic." Harry admitted, "I mean, if I were a girl, and you told me that, I would so do you." "Thank you," Draco said a bit hesitantly, "So am I guessing I can trust you all?" He faced Harry and Neville. Harry nodded in silent agreement, "It took me awhile to trust you this year Malfoy, but I do trust you and you can trust me," Neville replied, Draco turned to Ron, "Weasley?" Harry and Neville were straining to see Ron's expression, however Ron sat there silently. "Yes Malfoy, you can trust me," Ron mused, "On one condition." "Okay," Draco looked at Ron curiously, Ron grew serious as he stared at Draco, "You let me kill you if you ever hurt my sister." --- Replies are accepted here. OH! I loved this chappie! I loved when they were being moved! That made me laugh so bad! Also I loved when Harry told Malfoy that if he was a girl he'd do him! I LOVE that line! Absolutely love it! I'm so glad that my guess was right. . . because as I said I don't think that it could've been my other guess because Ginny wouldn't have hated him and other reasons. Anyway I really love this fic. . . update soon!

That, too, was my favourite line. I mean, after all the seriousness Draco presented in the chapter, I needed some comic relief right? And realizing that Harry hadn't said anything in awhile, so boom. That line came to be.
Sarah - I WILL not skive off 7th Year and concentrate on this Fic. Although I will update this more. This WILL be finished before the end of August, I promise you that! It's only scheduled for 10 chapters in all anyway, so... 6 more to go. Squeeee.. Jen - Hehe. Yes, Harry loves bothering Johnson, doesn't he? Was a bit carefree doing it as well.. Wonder if Sam slipped him more morphine when Johnson wasn't looking *ponders* I should keep track of my characters more often LoL. No update, just a little BUMP and reply to your replies ^__^ -------------------- |

*nids head knowingly* For those readers who are unaware. I'm a huge R/H shipper (Ron/Hermione NOT Ron/Harry *glares at Sarah*) as well as a D/G shipper =] I mean, just look at my discussion in the Malfoy 4 Ginny thread! LoL. I defend Malfoy for all it's worth.
*continues nidding head* Lots of my readers already perceived Draco being the one visiting Ginny. I should be way more discreet next time. *sigh* This is long, so Enjoy =] Chapter 5 | Shadow in Hope It was after lunch when Grace had returned with Ginny. She came through the door, pushed Ginny in and helped her into bed. "Glad to see you didn't take her food Ronald," Grace said as she saw Ron lounging back in his bed. "I was real tempted to," He then called through the opened door, "Wasn't I Harry? I wanted to take Ginny's plate!" Raising an interested eyebrow, Grace looked over her shoulder to Harry and Neville's room, "You sure did Ron!" Harry's voice carried across the hall, "I made sure he didn't do it though, Gracie! I told Ron that if he –" "Silencio!" Johnson appeared in the door way and leaned against the frame as he looked into Ron and Ginny's room. He looked over his shoulder at Harry who was giving Johnson several rude gestures, "Calm down Potter, I told you to stop yelling. Will you stop yelling if I take off the Silencing Charm?" Harry nodded his head obediently, "Finite Incantatem." Harry muttered something under his breath before grinning, "So anyway," he began yelling again, "I told Ron that if he took –" "Silencio!" "Ginny's plate I'd hex him," Harry grinned at the confused Johnson, "Wouldn't want Ginny to skip a meal." "Potter-" Johnson turned to glare at Harry, "Silencio!" "Just give it up Johnson," Harry insisted, "So Gin, how were those tests?" He ignored the growling Healer trying to send Silencing Charms his way. "Amazing!" Ginny called. "Grace, could Ron and I go over to their room?" "You don't want to eat?" Grace questioned, "I don't have an appetite at the moment," Ginny replied, "Ron can have my food." Ron grinned goofily as he climbed out of bed, grabbed his crutch and limped over to Ginny's bed. He took the plate before Grace could say anything and began limping towards Harry's room. In the mean time, Grace had helped Ginny out of her bed again and began to guide her towards the door. Ron slowly began to cross the hall way, "Ron! No!" Harry warned when Ron continued towards the door. Before Ron realized it, he had rebounded against the air in Harry and Neville's door way and was on the ground, the plate of food had flown through the air and landed at the one end of the hallway- forgotten. "AH!" Ron screamed in pain as he gingerly rolled over onto his back. Somehow, when he had rebounded, Ron had twisted in the air and landing on his stomach as well as his left arm. His left arm lay across his chest as he felt the pain throbbing violently. When he felt the pain somewhat subside he raised his head as far as possible to look at Harry and Neville – for during the fall, they had both commanded their beds to gather at the middle of the room once again. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT HARRY?" "A Shielding Charm," Johnson answered as he began examining Ron's arm. "I should've warned you sooner," Harry said sheepishly as Grace let Ginny lean against the door frame of her own room before kneeling down to assist Johnson with Ron. "YOU darn WELL SHOULD HAVE!" Ron yelled as he placed his head back down on the cool, tiled floor. "Ronald, be quiet and stop moving for a moment," Grace commanded, "I need to see if any damage was done to your knee again." "How can I stop moving when it feels like my arm is being sliced, diced and minced fourteen thousand different ways?" Ron questioned as he took in deep breaths, hoping it would somehow relieve him of his pain, "Easier to ask me to stop breathing." "Are you okay Ron?" Ginny faced the direction she heard his voice, "Have you been listening to a word I've said?" Ron asked, Ginny grinned as she felt the heat of embarrassment spread to her cheeks, "Just being polite," she said. Cautiously, she walked forward away from her door and felt in front of her. She felt the door frame, "Is this your room Neville? Harry?" "It is, Gin," Neville answered and she walked in side. She continued to walk until she felt the foot board of both their beds, "So you two have gathered your beds in the middle again?" "Sure have," Neville replied, "We both wanted to see what happened to Ron." A howl was released from Ron's mouth, "Nice one Harry." "Indeed!" Ron agreed, "Harry, you better hope my kneecap's screwed up again, or those burns will be more than your problem!" "Burns?" Ginny repeated. Ron smacked his forehead with his right hand in realizing what he said. Ginny stared straight ahead at both Harry and Neville, "Harry, I thought your burns have healed." Neville threw Harry a questioning look. "They have," Harry insisted then added through gritted teeth, "It seems Ron's hit his head so hard, he's forgotten that," "Oh, okay," Ginny said in an unsure tone, "How's Ron, Grace?" She asked, continuing to stare at both Neville and Harry, "He's fine," Grace responded, "You're lucky you're kneecap wasn't injured. Sure it's healed, but it's still a bit weak, try not to do anymore falling." "Like I had a choice," Ron replied sarcastically, "Oh my goodness! Ron!" Looking up, Ron saw Hermione wheeling towards him. She carefully let herself down from the wheelchair and sat down and held his face, "What happened? Are you okay? I would've come earlier but my parents insisted on having brunch with me." "Harry put a Shield Charm on his doorway before telling me," Ron explained as he took hold of one of her hands in his own, "As for me being okay, I don't feel it," "I'll give you some pain relieving solution Weasley," Johnson replied, "Luckily, that fall didn't do any more damage to your arm, but it didn't exactly help it either." He helped Ron up and supported him until Ron gained his balance on his crutch again while Grace levitated Hermione back onto her wheelchair. "I'll be back in a jiffy with that pain relieving solution, Weasley. No Sam, NO MORPHINE!" He growled at his apprentice who came bounding up with a needle in hand. The Healer's apprentice, Sam, was a man dressed in beige Healer's scrubs. He had dusty blonde hair that was always spiked up and blue eyes that always sparkled. He was nothing more than skin and bones and looked like he just came out of Healer's college. Dismayed, he de-conjured the needle and walked away moping. Sighing exasperatedly, Johnson turned his gaze to Harry, who, immediately plastered on his best innocent expression, "Potter, you're lucky no serious damage was done to Weasley. I suggest to prevent this in the future to STOP YELLING!" Harry nodded obediently and Johnson turned to leave, "Johnson," he turned back to face Harry, "You just yelled." Scowling, Johnson stalked away to get Ron his solution. Grace stepped aside of the doorway for Ron and Hermione to enter. She conjured two seats, one for Ron and one for Ginny. "I'll leave you five, but if you need anything I'll be up and down the halls," Grace replied as Ron began helping Ginny into a seat at the foot of Harry's bed, "But no yelling," she directed this comment to Harry who merely grinned. With that, Grace left, closing the door behind her. Ron collapsed on his chair which was at the foot of Neville's bed. Hermione let go of his hand to turn her glare on Harry, "Harry James Potter!" Harry cringed at hearing his full name. The only time Hermione called him that was when he was in trouble. He cautiously looked at Hermione who was scowling at him, "Yes- Mione?" "Don't Mione' me, mister! How in bloody blazes did this happen?" Hermione demanded, "Well, Johnson was placing Silencing Charms on me, so to deflect them I created a Shield Charm. When Ron was coming over here I warned him a little too late," Harry explained sheepishly, "A little too late? Blimey Harry, I had hit the ground before you even said stop," Ron replied. "Why were you even on your way here?" Hermione asked, "Harry asked how my tests were," Ginny answered, "I didn't want to bother Johnson more with yelling. So I asked Grace if Ron and I could come over here." "How did your tests go?" Neville asked, Facing Neville's direction, Ginny answered, "Amazing, like I said before. After the tests on my skull, Grace brought me to a room, maybe her office. Anyway, she called Stella and Johnson into the room and one by one they began telling me about a process which could alter my condition." "You mean get your sight back?" Hermione inquired, "No, not all of my sight," Ginny said, now facing Hermione, "They said it's a pretty far fetched chance, but they wanted to know if I'd like to give it a try. They said it was a new process being done in North America, specifically with Canadian Healers. However, it's not as perfect as wanted; there's a slight chance of it working. If that chance succeeds, then it will only restore one eye. Just one and it may not even have the sight of color." "But if you get one eye restored, why not do it again to get the other? Or keep doing it until restored?" Harry asked, "They said since it's a new thing, they're not quite sure how dangerous it is to do it multiple times," Ginny answered as she faced Harry, "In one case, after doing a second time, it reversed the effects and the person was blind again. In another case, after doing a second time, it caused the restored eye to become color blind. They don't want to take the chance of reversing the effects or causing any other effects after doing it two times. So, they said if I wanted to try it, we'll do it. Also, they said it was a one-time thing. After the first time and there were no improvements, then I'll just stay blind." "So what did you tell them?" Ron wondered, "I said try it!" Ginny said as if it were already obvious, "If given the chance to see again, I'd jump at the chance, even if that chance is as small as it is." "When is this all going to happen?" Neville asked this time, She faced Neville, "Two days. Grace wanted to give me time to think this over, even though I already decided. She said it'll take about a day to gather equipment needed and that they'll be apparating over a few specialized Healers in optometry from Canada who've done this before to assist." *** About an hour later, the five of them were talking; still in Harry and Neville's room. Neville had begun to talk more, not as much as usually, but more. Hermione had finally stopped scowling at Harry for what had happened to Ron while Ron was comfortably sitting in the chair he had changed into a cushioned arm chair – he was just glad the pain had subsided, thanks to Johnson's pain relieving solution. "Neville, I never thanked you, did I?" Hermione said suddenly, "I've never given you a reason to thank me, Herm," Neville replied while giving her a quizzical expression. "Yes you did. I would've died if you hadn't finished off Bellatrix." Hermione reminded, Neville smiled as pink tinted his cheeks, "Oh yeah." "Well, thank you Neville. You'll never know how much I appreciate what you did for me," Hermione beamed at him as Neville turned a few shades of pink darker. "It was nothing. Real-" Neville paused as he gazed passed them to the doorway. Simultaneously, Hermione and Ron turned around, Ginny had no clue what was going on. All she knew was that the room got silent. There stood Draco in the door way, he placed a finger to his lips, signaling for those able to see, to keep quiet and not mention he was there. "Guys, what's wrong?" Ginny asked finally, breaking the silence. "Nothing's wrong," Harry said quickly, "We just saw Trelawney walking down the halls." "Oh," Ginny said and it seemed she bought his lie, "How is she?" "She's pretty good," Harry replied as he and the others kept their eyes on Draco. Draco held up his five fingers. When they all shot him quizzical expressions he threw his hands in the air in frustration. He signaled Harry to keep talking as he pulled out a quill and small piece of parchment. "She's been making lots of predictions too," Harry added quickly as Draco began scribbling down something on the parchment, "But, I doubt any of them are real. She doesn't really trust the Eye anymore, does she Ron?" "What?" Ron was brought out of his daze, "Yes, that's true!" Silently, Draco crept into the room and handed the piece of parchment to Ron before waving and disappearing again. Ron looked at the parchment and then handed it to Hermione, who in turn handed it to Harry then Neville. It read: I'll be back at 5. Make sure she's in her room. "What's that about?" Hermione questioned. More about the note from Draco than Trelawney's distrust for the Eye. "Hermione, I thought you were in the room when Trelawney visited us?" Ginny asked, "I was asleep, so maybe you left before she came." "Oh, yeah I left," Hermione lied as she eyed Ron, Harry and Neville – all who seemed to understand the meaning of the note, perfectly well. "I'll explain it to you later, Mione," Ron insisted and Hermione nodded in silent agreement. *** At quarter to five, Ginny, Ron and Hermione headed to the Weasley's room because Johnson said he needed to give both Harry and Neville their medications. When both Ginny and Ron were settled back into their beds, Grace strode in, "Ronald, medication," she said as she walked over to Ron, "Um, Grace, could you give me non-drowsy medication?" Ron asked. She nodded and left immediately. Earlier in the other room, Ron suggested to both Harry and Neville to take non-drowsy medication when Ginny had left the room with Hermione. Within minutes, Grace had returned and gave Ron his medication. "Ginevra, I'll be back in fifteen to give you your own medication." Grace said before leaving. "Okay," Ginny said, although Grace had already closed the door behind her. "Ron? Are you still awake?" Hermione looked up at Ron who was sitting straight in bed. He nodded at Hermione, "Yes Ginny, he's asleep already," Hermione lied. "Are you staying Herms? Or are you going to leave?" Ginny asked, Looking at Ron for reassurance, Hermione paused. After he nodded she lied again, "Yes, just for a bit. Maybe grab a snack while Ron's sleeping." "Oh, okay," Ginny replied as she leaned against her pillows. She heard the door open and she turned her head towards it, "Are you leaving already Herms?" Hermione had watched the door open and there was Draco. She placed a finger up to her mouth and he nodded as he opened the door fully and leaned against the door frame. "Yes, Ginny. Hope you don't mind. I'll be back soon," Hermione insisted, "Bye." "Goodbye," Ginny replied, not paying attention to the fact that she had not heard Hermione's wheels move. Ginny sighed heavily as she closed her eyes – although it made no difference to her - and began to contemplate to herself. Draco silently walked across the hall to Harry and Neville's room; their door was wide open. "What are you four playing at?" Draco asked silently, "Don't mind us," Harry insisted, "Ron just wanted to see what you two talked about during your conversations." "Weasley doesn't trust me still?" Draco raised an eyebrow, "No Draco, Ron's just overprotective of his sister. He'd probably do the same for me if I were the one visiting Ginny," Harry replied, "And why aren't you the one visiting Ginny?" Draco questioned, "I remember how she used to fawn over you in school." "Ginny's nothing more to me than a little sister," Harry said, "So you have nothing to worry about." "Is he being honest, Longbottom?" Draco asked, turning to Neville, He nodded, "Before the war, Harry was more in tune with a certain Ravenclaw than Ginny," He smirked as Harry glared at Neville. "And who was that Potter?" It was Draco's turn to smirk, "Shouldn't you go over there now?" Harry switched topics, "She's probably fully convinced she's by herself." "We'll talk again, Potter," Draco turned and headed across the hall. Awkwardly looking at Hermione and Ron who were both watching him, Draco knocked on the open door. "Who is it?" Ginny asked, opening her eyes and facing the door. "It's me," Draco answered as usually, "How are you?" "Excellent," Ginny grinned, "I have amazing news!" "Oh really?" Draco raised an eyebrow and shot both Hermione and Ron questioning looks. "What would that be?" "I might be getting my sight back!" Ginny exclaimed happily. "Oh- Oh, that's great!" Draco faked an excited tone, all the while throwing the other two in the room anxious looks. "When is this going to happen?" "In two days," Ginny answered, "They say it's a new process, but it's proven to be successful in Canada. But, the downside is that although it's worked, there's a fifty percent chance of it working. Even if it does work, however, only one eye will be restored." "At least it's an improvement," Draco offered as his encouraging tone did not match the nervous expression on his face. "Yes, a huge improvement," Ginny piped. She extended her hand to him and he took it in his own, "I'll finally be able to see you. No more hiding your identity," She grinned, "I could always stand on the other side of you," Draco joked as she squeezed his hand. "So will you come?" Ginny asked, looking in the direction she assumed he was standing. "When? Tomorrow?" Draco inquired, "No, on the day it's going to happen. Will you be here?" She clarified herself. Draco looked over his shoulder at Hermione and Ron. Hermione shrugged and Ron gave him a face suggesting the decision was his and his alone. "I'll.. I'll check my schedule," He offered as he turned back to look at her, "Promise you'll come," She said, a pleading expression on her face. She tugged at his hand for him to come closer and she felt him sit on the edge of her bed, "I need your support. I need you." Immediately realizing the words that had spilt from her mouth, she looked away, feeling the heat creep onto her face. Draco sighed as he held the side of her face so she was facing him again, "I promise, then." She held her hand over his and offered him a smile. "Thank you." There was another knock on the open door. "Who is it?" Startled, Draco stood up immediately, dropping Ginny's hand. Grace walked in, "Time for medication Ginevra," "Fine," Ginny sighed as she took the pills she felt being pressed into the palm of her hand. She heard Grace exiting once again. "I'm sorry to cut this short, but- the medication makes me so tired." Draco brushed her cheek with his finger tips, "It's okay. Sleep now." He walked over to the door and leaned against the door frame as he watched her settle back into bed and roll onto her side so that her back faced Hermione and Ron. *** After a few minutes, Ron got out of bed, grabbed his crutch and went over to were Draco was standing, "I know you want to talk," Ron said quietly, "But not here. Gin might awaken. Into the other room." Draco nodded as he lead the way, across the hall, into Harry and Neville's room. Harry and Neville had commanded their beds to move to their original spots while they listened intently to Draco and Ginny's conversation. It was hard for them to achieve such a feat, however, with the help of George and Fred's Extendable Ears, the feat was accomplished. Ron hobbled over to his comfy arm chair which still was placed near the middle of the floor. He pushed it more to the side beside the foot of Neville's bed and settled down. Hermione wheeled herself beside Ron and he took her hand in his own. Draco walked over to the foot of Harry's bed and sat down, "Okay, how come you didn't say anything about this?" Draco demanded suddenly, "We didn't exactly have time, did we?" Hermione shot back, "Potter, Longbottom, I was in your room before I went over there, why didn't you tell me?" Draco inquired, "We thought it would be better for you to hear it from Ginny," Harry explained, "Besides, not like you would've believed us, would you?" Neville added, "I would've kept it in mind," Draco said, knowing they weren't believing him. He crossed his arms, "Still could've warned me something like that was going to come up. I would've been more prepared. More rehearsed." "Doesn't look like you need it Draco," Ron admitted, "Gin seemed to buy into your lie." "She also bought into your lies," Draco reminded, "She thought you were asleep Ron, you left Hermione and probably assumed the door to her room was closed." "I told you Ron was protective," Harry said, "Besides, we were all curious as to what you two talked about." "And what about privacy?" Draco questioned, Ron shrugged, "Anyway, you didn't look too good back there Draco. You don't want Ginny to get her sight back do you?" "For her sake, yes. For my sake- not so much," Draco sighed, "When she sees me, she'll hate me and banish me from her presence forever. Like I said, I can't stand not seeing her now-" "Okay, stop for a minute," Hermione interrupted, "You four still have to explain to me about that note, Draco visiting Ginny, everything. You said you would." "Granger, we don't exactly have time for –" "Yes we do!" Hermione shot at Draco, "You're not exactly going anywhere and last time I checked, Ginny's medication lasts for about an hour. So start explaining." She demanded, letting go of Ron's hand and crossed her arms over her chest; waiting for an explanation. Draco sighed exasperatedly as he conjured an arm chair similar to Ron's and plopped himself onto it. "I'm not explaining it, Potter?" "Nope, not me," Harry said as he leaned back on his semi-upright bed, "Neville?" Neville glanced at Hermione's glaring expression, "Ron, she's your girlfriend!" "Not like it was my choice," Ron defended, getting a well deserved punch in the arm. "Ow," Ron hissed, "Mione, I was just kidding. I can't even rub that spot on my arm, my left arm's useless," He sighed as he slightly shook his right arm to somewhat subdue the pain. After a few moments hesitation, he gave into Hermione's glare and began to explain Hermione about everything involving Draco and Ginny. --- Comments =] -------------------- |

I'm on vacation right now, so this was my first opportunity to catch up on your updates.
This is actually pretty funny (romantic comedies are my faves). Truth seems to be a big thing for Ginny and I think it's going to hurt her big time when she finds out who her "mystery guy" is. Not because it's Draco, but because he is lying to her. He should be more secure in himself and not hindge everything on the assumption that she will hate him. I mean come on, give Ginny some credit Draco! Ummm. . .I'm alittle too into this, huh? That's ok, it's a great story! Please update soon, can't wait to read more. Hanna P.S.~I knew it was Draco, just didn't get around to PM-ing you. -------------------- IKWT!
